Document Healthy Living 2025
We have refined the course followed by Maastricht UMC+ and describe it in this document, Healthy Living 2025. In this way, we are building on our Healthy Living 2020 strategy of 2015. This does not represent a major change of course; instead we are deepening and further developing our existing strategy. In Maastricht, we have been working for more than a decade on health in the broader sense. For example, in our vision document 'Care, Cure, Well-being & Health' [Heel de Mens] (2010), we explained that we were not focusing solely on curing people when they are sick, but also on developing knowledge and skills relating to factors that influence health. With great conviction, we are further consolidating our strong position in restoring people to health as well as maintaining and promoting people's health. From House of God to Academic Hospital
To commemorate that 25 years ago the St. Annadal hospital became University Hospital Maastricht, the history of health care in Maastricht is chronicled in the book From House of God to Academic Hospital. The book was made by an editorial team led by Prof. Harry Hillen, former dean of the Faculty of Medicine (currently the Faculty of Health, Medicine & Life Sciences) and by Prof. Jos van Engelshoven, Emeritus Professor of Radiology.
'Kunst in het azM/Art in azM' is a book on the art collection of Maastricht UMC+ (in the hospital building). You can buy a copy at the Service Desk of the Facilities Department azM (firstname.lastname@example.org)for €45,-.
